For the Office of Public Affairs of the Bahá’ís of India, the purpose of its participation in public discourses is not to persuade others to accept a Bahá’í position on one or the other issue. Nor is effort in this area intended as a public relations activity or an academic exercise. Rather, Bahá’ís strive to engage in sincere conversations with other social actors based on the conviction that advancement in thought on fundamental issues requires a genuinely collaborative process of collective deliberation and learning. In its contributions, the Office strives to draw upon the spiritual teachings on various social and economic issues and the learning from the experience of the Indian Bahá’í community in striving to apply these teachings for the betterment of the world.
